I got these for my backyard, to shed some light on the patio between the main house and the apartment in back. It's not a ton of light, but that's perfect--I'm not looking to create light pollution, I just want a little glow to see by and some "landmarks" to find your way around out there when it's pitch black. These really fit the bill. There is a paved pathway that goes from the patio around the side of the house, and I put these on either side of the pathway where it meets the patio. It's hard to see that that's what's going on in the photos, but that's kind of the point--without the lights the pathway would be invisible, and with them it's easy to spot. The shadows they cast are just lovely, as well.
